Calm Mind. Empty Battery?
⠀
You meditate. Your thoughts slow down. Your body relaxes.
⠀
But later… you still feel tired.
⠀
What if relaxation and recharging are not the same thing?
⠀
Many popular meditation methods focus on stopping thoughts and entering a state of emptiness. This can bring calm but according to Tao quieting the brain is not the same as building energy.
⠀
Think of your phone: closing the apps slows battery drain, but it does not recharge it.
⠀
Master Mantak Chia cites research conducted in Vienna comparing meditative states, including Zen and Buddhist contemplation.
⠀
In these relaxed states, brain activity decreased, but the high-frequency alpha and theta activity described in the teachings as healing energy was not generated in the same way.
⠀
The practitioner may feel peaceful while the energetic “battery” remains low.
⠀
⠀
The goal is not only to spend less energy, but to learn how to receive, transform and store it.
⠀
Master Chia explains that Taoist practice connects the mind with the organs and the Lower Tan Tien.
⠀
“Wherever your mind goes, the Chi will go.”
⠀
Instead of keeping attention and energy concentrated in the head, the practitioner brings awareness down, connects with Universal and Earth energy, allows the organs to transform it, and stores Chi in the Lower Tan Tien.
⠀
The refined energy can then rise again to nourish the brain.
⠀
The higher energy level created through active Taoist practice could remain for up to 8 hours after meditation.
⠀
So the aim is not simply an empty mind.
⠀
It is a quiet mind + a charged body.
⠀
This is why the Microcosmic Orbit Practice is so important in Taoist practice: energy is circulated through the body rather than left concentrated in the head.

On September 12–13, Master Mantak Chia will guide two LIVE Online Healing Sessions with Energy Transmission:
