5 Reasons Your Energy Stops Flowing

You may have energy and still feel tired, scattered, tense, or mentally foggy.

From a Taoist perspective, the problem is not always that you need more energy. Sometimes, the energy you already have is simply not circulating freely.
Here are 5 common reasons:
1️⃣ Too much sitting
The Taoist system describes natural “pumps” along the spine that support the upward movement of energy. Long hours of sitting can keep the pelvis and spine compressed and inactive.
2️⃣ Your mind uses too much energy
Constant thinking, planning, worrying, scrolling, and internal dialogue require energy. In Taoist practice, this overactive state is sometimes called the “monkey mind.”
3️⃣ Energy goes up but does not come back down
Raising energy is only half of the process. The Microcosmic Orbit creates a pathway for energy to rise along the back and descend along the front, completing the energetic circuit.
4️⃣ Your energy is constantly moving outward
Screens, noise, conversations, stimulation, and desires continuously pull our attention outward, making it harder to gather energy back inside.
5️⃣ Stress collects in the abdomen
Stress changes the way we breathe and creates tension through the abdomen, diaphragm, muscles, and fascia. From a Taoist perspective, this can interfere with the free movement of Qi and internal circulation.
☯️ In the upcoming 2-part LIVE Healing Sessions, Grandmaster Mantak Chia will guide you through both directions of the practice:
Day 1: Activate the rising energy flow.
Day 2: Bring the energy down, complete the circuit, and store it in the Lower Tan Tien.
